Building Life Cycle Cost (LCC) Assessment

The Life Cycle Cost (LCC) of a building is the total cost of construction, use, and demolition during the life of the building.

The ratio of the initial costs in the construction stage (planning, design, actual construction) to LCC will differ depending on the application and life of a building, but is generally said to be about 20-25%. Thus, construction costs are actually quite small.

Building Life Cycle Cost (LCC) Assessment

Features

  • Toyo Construction has prepared a system that enables calculation of the LCC of a building from the basic building outline. Use of this system to study the long-term economy of buildings makes it possible to assess the effectiveness of plans requested by the client (e.g., energy saving buildings, etc.).
  • As a building deteriorates with age, the client may wonder whether to continue using the structure or rebuild it. In such cases, Toyo provides support for the client’s decision-making process by using the Toyo LCC calculation system to verify the economy of various scenarios.
