Two-Dimensional Irregular Wave Flumes

The Two-Dimensional Irregular Wave Flumes can reproduce the actions of regular and irregular waves in studies of wave pressure and wave force and the stability of port, coastal, and offshore structures against waves, wave overtopping and transmission characteristics, wave-dissipating capacity, etc. The wave generator is equipped with a re-reflected wave-absorbing function that absorbs waves reflected from structural models, making it possible to perform precise experiments with high efficiency. Tsunami experiments are also possible by using the long stroke wave-generating plate drive. Because the flume is equipped with a unit-type temporary bed, experiments with arbitrary sea bottom slopes are easy.

Two-Dimensional Irregular Wave Flumes

Features

  • Reproduces hydraulic phenomena by a high performance system with a proven track record.
  • Used to evaluate the stability of structures against large waves.
  • Reproduces irregular wave fields in sea areas for evaluation of the functions of structures.
  • Also effective in studies of tsunami countermeasure works by utilizing the long-stroke wave-generating mechanism.
