Toyo Construction Co., Ltd. (President and Representative Director: Kyoji Takezawa) held the
\n\u201cTOYO BIM Forum 2023\u201d in the meeting room of Head Office on March 17. This forum, which
\nhas been held eight times now, was held allowing online participation by hybrid method, in
\naddition toparticipation in the meeting room, with participation of over 80 officers and staff.<\/p>\n

At the opening, Mr. Hiromi Hirata, Director and Vice President Executive Officer & General
\nManager ofArchitectural Construction Div., told that construction industry is rapidly changing
\nby the automation of construction process and the introduction of technologies to realize
\noptimization, and that the construction DX, BIM and AI are the core of this innovation as well
\nas the critical element to form the future of construction industry, and that it is expected that
\nmany people will notice various issues of construction industry through the utilization of these
\ntechnologies for the issues such as reduction of CO2<\/sub> emission amount or labor shortage and
\naging of workers.<\/p>\n

For this forum, we invited industry leaders, professionals and engineers, as external partners.
\nIn the morning session, following the reports of the design review conducted this fiscal year,
\nthe visualization of findings that arose during the process of design verification, and the
\nmetaverse, we exchanged views on the possibility that the image generation by AI may have
\nan influence on the implication of design, etc. In the afternoon session, the achievement was
\nreported, with partner companies that jointly addressed the challenges in the BIM model
\nproject, and in a related move, a panel discussion was presented. Each of the verified
\nchallenges is the critical technology for the future construction DX, and we had a lively
\nexchange of views about the necessity of continuous technology development, etc.<\/p>\n

This BIM Forum 2023 provided a valuable opportunity to share information and exchange
\nviews with industry specialists on the latest technological trends and challenges that forge the
\nfuture of construction industry. Regarding the challenges related to the construction BIM, Mr.
\nSasaki, Project Manager who is working on the utilization of overseas human resources as an
\nexample of the challenge on the front line, made a case report, and it was confirmed that the
\nsignificant reduction in working hours and improvement of work efficiency, which is necessary
\nfor the BIM modelization, have been realized and that we will aim to utilize it proactively.<\/p>\n

Also, regarding the construction BIM training for staff at sites, the achievement of
\nexperience-based training that was introduced in FY 2022 was reported. Experience-based
\ntraining, aiming to hold a construction BIM coordination meeting led by the site (a meeting to
\ndiscuss the interference check and balance utilizing the three-dimensional model), handles the
\nprocess to exchange findings on the cloud platform (Autodesk BIM360), contents of which are
\npractical in that the construction staff indicate the interference points and balance as an
\nindividual specialty contractor and provide answers. In the questionnaire replies after the
\ntraining, it was reported that 87% of staff wanted continuing training.<\/p>\n
