Risk Management Project for Cagayan de Oro River Contract (Package 2)\u201d<br \/>\nconstructed by the Company in the Republic of the Philippines, the completion ceremony was held on<br \/>\nMay 26th 2023, which was attended by approximately 200 people, including Mr. Bonoan, the Secretary of<br \/>\nthe Department of Public Works and Highways of Philippines, and concerned personnel of Embassy of Japan in<br \/>\nthe Philippines and JICA Philippines office, and Mr. Shuichi Aikawa, General Manager of International Division.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u3000This project is an official development assistance (ODA) with Japan\u2019s yen loan intended to control and<br \/>\nmitigate the flood risk in the area, based on the significant disaster experience from the major typhoon<br \/>\n(local name: Sendong) that hit Mindanao area of the country in December 2011.<br \/>\nThe Company conducted the construction of embankment and revetment in Cagayan de Oro river basin,<br \/>\nadopting the static sand compaction pile construction method, a Japanese technology.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u3000At the ceremony, courteous gratitude to Japan\u2019s support through ODA was expressed by Secretary Bonoan<br \/>\nand other guests, and expectations for safety and convenience in the area by this project was also expressed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u3000The Company, since 1973 when it started operations in the country, has participated in<br \/>\nvarious projectsover approximately 50 years.<br \/>\nCurrently, we are working on the Pasig-Marikina River Channel Improvement Project<br \/>\n(Package 2, Package 3\u203b) which was ordered in July 2021.<\/p>\n<p>\u203b Package 3 is conducted by JV of Toyo and Shimizu.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u3000For economic development of the Philippines and realization of the \u201chigh-quality infrastructure improvement\u201d<br \/>\npromoted by Japanese government, the Company will make significant contribution by deploying our technologies<br \/>\nthrough construction works and developing precious local human resources.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"appose\">\n<div id=\"attachment_7248\"
