\nRepresentative Director: Haruhisa Obayashi, hereinafter \u201cToyo Construction\u201d) and Seki Kaiji Industry Co.,
\nLtd. (Head office: Awaji city, Hyogo, President and Representative Director: Masaru Seki, hereinafter
\n\u201cSKI\u201d) received notice of adoption of the Research and Development of Wind Power Generation
\nTechnologies \/ Research and Development of Offshore Wind Power Generation Technologies \/ Low-Cost
\nConstruction Technology Development for Offshore Wind Power Generation (Construction Technology
\nVerification of Water Jet Type Submarine Cable Burial Machine) of the New Energy and Industrial
\nTechnology Development Organization (NEDO).<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u3000Toward the realization of carbon neutrality by 2050, offshore wind power generation is regarded as a
\npillar of recyclable energy, and there is a pressing need to reduce costs in order to be a main power source.<\/p>\n
\u3000The seabed of Japan is complex and varies widely. On the other hand, since the area for offshore wind
\npower generation facilities is very extensive, for burial of submarine cables, it becomes important to install
\nthem according to the variation of seabed conditions.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u3000Toyo Construction has significant achievements in the development of foundation technologies including
\noffshore wind power, and SKI has extensive experience and know-how in submarine cable installation
\nincluding offshore wind power business.<\/p>\n
\u3000By utilizing the expertise of both companies and cooperating in the construction technology development
\nof submarine cable burial, we will establish the cable burial technology that is applicable to the Japan-
\nspecific seabed conditions and will realize cost reduction.<\/p>\n
