(hereinafter referred to as \u201cToyo Construction\u201d) and MODEC,<br \/>\nInc. (hereinafter referred to as \u201cMODEC\u201d) have jointly received approval in principle<br \/>\n\uff08hereinafter referred to as \u201cAiP\u201d\uff09for \u201cfloating structure &#038; tether system and tether pile<br \/>\nfoundation for TLP type floating offshore wind turbine\u201d from NIPPON KAIJI KYOKAI<br \/>\n(hereinafter referred to as \u201cClassNK*1\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u3000The acquisition of AiP has been as one of the tasks for the NEDO\u2019s*2 Green Innovation Fund <br \/>\nPhase 1 project which was carried out by Toyo Construction, MODEC, Furukawa Electric<br \/>\nCo., Ltd., and JERA Co., Ltd. The AiP has been obtained based on the drawings and related<br \/>\ndocuments of the floating structure &#038; tether system provided by MODEC and those of tether<br \/>\npile foundation provided by Toyo Construction.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u3000This time, for the demonstration project in Japan, both companies have obtained another AiP<br \/>\nfrom ClassNK with the aim of preempting some of evaluation items for Wind Farm<br \/>\nCertification and Classification Surveys that will be required during the demonstration project.<br \/>\nIn acquiring this AiP, both companies also conducted a study on Japan&#8217;s unique<br \/>\nenvironmental conditions, such as earthquakes and tsunamis, and received valuable opinions<br \/>\nfrom ClassNK including the opinions by experts, which will be reflected in the design and the<br \/>\ndevelopment during the expected demonstration project.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u3000Toyo Construction raises the offshore-wind-power related business as a \u201cgrowth driver\u201d and<br \/>\nis promoting the business to make it our future core business. Particularly, we put priority and<br \/>\nfocus on developing technologies for lowering costs related to the offshore wind power<br \/>\ngeneration business.
