Republic of the Philippines Completion ceremony of the Flood Risk Management Project for Cagayan de Oro River Contract (Package 2) was held.

 Upon completion of the “Flood Risk Management Project for Cagayan de Oro River Contract (Package 2)”
constructed by the Company in the Republic of the Philippines, the completion ceremony was held on
May 26th 2023, which was attended by approximately 200 people, including Mr. Bonoan, the Secretary of
the Department of Public Works and Highways of Philippines, and concerned personnel of Embassy of Japan in
the Philippines and JICA Philippines office, and Mr. Shuichi Aikawa, General Manager of International Division.

 

 This project is an official development assistance (ODA) with Japan’s yen loan intended to control and
mitigate the flood risk in the area, based on the significant disaster experience from the major typhoon
(local name: Sendong) that hit Mindanao area of the country in December 2011.
The Company conducted the construction of embankment and revetment in Cagayan de Oro river basin,
adopting the static sand compaction pile construction method, a Japanese technology.

 

 At the ceremony, courteous gratitude to Japan’s support through ODA was expressed by Secretary Bonoan
and other guests, and expectations for safety and convenience in the area by this project was also expressed.

 

 The Company, since 1973 when it started operations in the country, has participated in
various projectsover approximately 50 years.
Currently, we are working on the Pasig-Marikina River Channel Improvement Project
(Package 2, Package 3※) which was ordered in July 2021.

※ Package 3 is conducted by JV of Toyo and Shimizu.

 

 For economic development of the Philippines and realization of the “high-quality infrastructure improvement”
promoted by Japanese government, the Company will make significant contribution by deploying our technologies
through construction works and developing precious local human resources.
