To ensure that Toyo Construction Group’s business activities are based on its basic sustainability policy, we have established a Sustainability Committee as a permanent body directly under the Executive Committee. The Sustainability Committee is chaired by the President & COO and consists of the general managers of the Civil Engineering, Construction, and Green Transformation divisions, as well as the officer in charge of the Administration Group. The status of initiatives and future policies related to sustainability risks and opportunities are deliberated by the Sustainability Committee, reported to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors, and incorporated into management plans and business operations.

In addition, working groups have been established as subordinate organizations of the Committee to examine individual important issues related to sustainability such as climate change and report the results to the Committee.

We have identified the issues to be resolved through our business activities as the materiality of the Toyo Construction Group.
In this identification, the Company adopted the idea of “double materiality”, a method to find the important issues through consideration of both the impact of the Company on society & environment and the impact of sustainability issues on finance.

We will work on the derived materiality through our main business and contribute to the sustainable society.

Process to identify the materiality

STEP 01 Multiple analysis

① Listing the relationship of the Company with the society & environment by a value-chain analysis

② Recognizing the issues & expectations of major stakeholders by a stakeholder analysis

③ Identifying the sustainability issues through a long-term plan by an analysis of management and business

④ Identifying the sustainability issues from long-term societal and environmental changes such as climate change by a megatrend analysis
